Clumsy me

I feel like I'm in a constant fight with gravity. Being a klutz isn't anything new. In fact, I've been like this as long as I can remember. Knocking over things I'm reaching for and tripping over my own feet are things I do all of the time. It's just a part of being me and I've gotten used to it. Every once in a while, however, I take clumsy to a whole new level.
Earlier this week I managed to trip up some stairs at school. This wouldn't be so bad (minus the people chuckling at me) but in trying to catch myself I inadvertently hooked my thumb abound my headphone cord. This caused not only my headphones to come out of my ears but my phone to go flying out of my hand. During all of this, my purse, half open, was tilted in such a way that the majority of the things inside it spilled out on to the stairs.
It seems that I can't just be a klutz...
I also have to look like a train wreck while my klutziness is on full display.
It's not just things like that either. I wonder if I have a gnome living in my bag who likes taking my headphones and wrapping them around my wallet, sunglasses, hairbrush and anything else it can find. I can't seem to pull one thing out without bring several other things with it. This is especially helpful when you are in line at the gas station and the people behind you just want to pay for their gas and not watch you fight with your purse.
Of course when I need my keys or to find my phone, they are mysteriously underneath every last little thing and I can't get to them unless I pull everything else out.
He's a busy little gnome...
I'm certain I'm not the only person with these problem's but sometimes I just want to throw up my hands and shout "Really?!? Only I am capable of this..."

Back to School

Back to school tomorrow. I've been anxious for this since right after Christmas. My first two weeks off were nice and relaxing but after the holidays I realized something. All of this free time with nothing to do... I was filling it with sleep and spending money. Sleep is okay but I was probably napping in excess and the spending wasn't outrageous, it just wasn't good for my "save all your extra cash" plan.
But that will all change tomorrow. I'm back to an organized schedule with the bulk of my time taken up by work and school. I vow to use what time I have left for homework and for saving my extra money every month for Europe.
We will see how this works out after the first month of classes. I may be in need of a nice long nap. ;) I'll just have to hold out for spring break!

The Trip is On!

It's official. The europe trip is a go.
We were waiting for the final word because several of the participants had dropped out and our Professor wasn't sure she could do the trip with so few people. Thankfully, I got an email yesterday with confirmation that we are going! Now starts crunch time. I have the first $1500 I need for the cost of the trip and I just have to save the second half by March. Yikes.
It will all work out I'm sure. Now I need to go get one of those over sized backpacks and everything else I will need for two weeks in Denmark and Germany.
So exciting!
